IT solutions providers looking to accelerate their net zero journeys are being offered a leg up through a new £20m 'sustainable funding pool'.

Talking to CRN, Societe General Equipment Finance's Vincenzo Scalzone explained that the annual fund will offer competitive finance rates to channel partners embarking on energy transition projects.

This could include installing electric vehicle chargers or rooftop solar infrastructure.

Many of the UK's top IT solutions providers are taking action to cut their carbon footprint as they come under more pressure from government regulation, customers, staff and investors.

Scalzone stressed that SGEF's sustainable funding pool will amount to up to £20m annually, and is aimed specifically at the UK IT channel.

"All those funds will be offered at a very competitive rate, which means that IT resellers will be able to finance those projects at a competitive cost. This is testament to, from one side, SGEF's support and investment in sustainable projects, but also - most importantly - our support of the community to which we belong," he said.

The scheme will also enable channel partners to use advisors and installers that have already been vetted by SGEF, Scalzone added.

In the above video, Scalzone also touches on the role financing can play in helping channel partners offer sustainable IT solutions to their end customers.
