Channel round-up: Who’s gone where?

People with financial and services skills have been in demand over the past week

The fourth quarter has arrived, and so have another few executive changes designed to support growth ambitions. If there is a loose theme to this week, it is the decision by a couple of firms to strengthen their finance officer position with some fresh blood. There have also been moves by some to make sure that service delivery standards remain high.

Ensono

The managed services player has appointed Duan Van Der Westhuizen as senior vice-president of public cloud. He has a CV that spans two decades and was most recently senior vice-president of marketing, product, at multicloud data services provider Faction. In his latest challenge, Van Der Westhuizen will be leaning on Ensono’s relationships with Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud to come up with something that attracts more customers.

“The addition of Duan to our public cloud practice is key for expanding our expertise and depth of knowledge to serve as relentless allies to our roster of enterprise clients,” said Marc Capri, president at Ensono. “Under Duan’s leadership, we’ll be able to broaden our public cloud services portfolio to reach organisations and drive growth into new global and vertical markets, strengthening Ensono’s position as the leading managed services provider for multicloud solutions.”

Exertis

The distributor is often featured in Who’s gone where? due to its hiring and expansion, and is here again with the decision to appoint Cath O’Neill as IT director, service operations. That role will see her take responsibility for service desk, desktop services, infrastructure services and the implementation of ITIL standards across Exertis UK. She joins from the Odeon Cinema Group, where she was responsible for all aspects of service delivery.

Liz Greenwood, UK IT director at Exertis, said: “I am delighted to welcome Cath to our UK IT team. The business has experienced significant growth over the past couple of years and Cath will play a lead role in defining a number of upcoming IT projects.”

Sabio

Nils Steinmeyer has become the firm’s chief financial officer (CFO). He comes with a strong CV and experience sitting in the CFO chair at other organisations.

Jonathan Gale, Sabio’s CEO, welcomed Steinmeyer: “Nils has huge experience of operating in C-suite and senior financial management and governance positions within acquisitive, growing and successful businesses and has also benefited from a private equity background through his tenure at Terra Firma Capital Partners. I am confident that he will be a huge asset to our organisation and will play a pivotal role in the future success of the business as we continue to execute our five-year growth strategy.”

Cohesity

The data management player has given Kevin Delane the chance to make a difference as chief revenue officer at Cohesity. He has plenty of partner experience and was previously vice-president of worldwide sales at Pure Storage.

“This was an opportunity I simply could not pass up,” said Delane. “The company has amazing leaders, culture, a partner-first mentality, a great international team, and a focus on innovation that’s helping customers win the war against ransomware. It’s no wonder the company has recently announced record-breaking fiscal year 2021 results. I look forward to working with customers and partners globally to help them advance their business and do more with data.”
