Channel roundup: Who's gone where?

Another busy few days across the industry, with executives on the move as firms seek growth

If there is a loose theme of the changes made in the tech industry’s hires this week, then it’s to be found on the security side of the industry, with several moves for those specialising in cyber security.

WatchGuard

The security player has appointed Miguel Carrero as vice-president of strategic accounts, meaning he will be in charge of growing and expanding the company’s global effort to target, onboard and manage partnerships with strategic accounts, including multi-national service providers and managed security service providers (MSSPs).

“Miguel has had a long and successful career, and is widely recognised for his security and technology expertise, sales and go-to-market experience, leadership acumen and collaborative mentality,” said Sean Price, senior vice-president of worldwide sales at WatchGuard.

“Miguel has led global efforts in his work with HP’s ArcSight group, and recently with Siemplify. We’re exceedingly confident in his ability to build on WatchGuard’s existing investment in the service provider route-to-market and to further expand within the multi-national strategic accounts and MSSP community.”

LogMeIn

The firm has given Michael Oberlaender the chance to make a difference as its new CISO. He comes with three decades of experience at various firms, including Vodafone Deutschland, Cisco systems and Netskope. His latest role will come with responsibility for managing and growing the vendor’s security programme.

“LogMeIn has been at the forefront of the work-from-anywhere era, delivering essential, secure technologies that keep people connected. I wanted to be part of a company that values and ingrains security into everything it does, which LogMeIn continually demonstrates,” he said.

Netlist

The storage specialist has appointed industry veteran Todd Levy as vice-president of sales. His CV includes time at Smart Modular Technologies, as well as an earlier spell at Netlist in the early 2000s as global account manager for Dell.

“Todd is an accomplished sales leader with significant knowledge of our products and extensive relationships in key end markets. We are pleased to welcome him back to the Netlist team,” said C.K. Hong, Netlist’s CEO.

Trustifi

The SaaS security firm has turned to Peter Eastman as its chief revenue officer. He has a CV that stretches back over two decades and includes a 10-year spell at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, where he helped sales trams focused on SME and enterprise markets.

“We’re fortunate to have Peter on our team, whose extensive experience in driving market penetration extends to both the SME and enterprise segments. His skill set and proven reputation for implementing successful strategies will be an exceptional asset,” said Rom Hendler, Trustifi’s CEO.

NTT Data UK

The firm has decided it needs the talents of Alberto Bellofatto to make a difference as its vice-president, global client partner for Vodafone. He will take on global responsibility for the firm’s relationship with the vendor.

“I am excited to begin this new chapter with NTT Data UK, whose passion and expertise drew me in. Couple this with NTT Data’s global footprint, and we are the ideal partner to help such a major player in the UK Telco market through their latest organisational changes,” he said.
