HP has unveiled a new line of home office hardware ranging from laptops and monitors to a wireless mouse and earbuds.
The new products were showcased as part of CES 2021, which commenced today as a virtual-only event for the first time in its 53-year history.
Among the new devices, which the company says have been “designed to power hybrid work environments and growing personal creative studios”, is the latest model of the HP EliteBook business laptop.
The new 840 G8 Aero, much like Lenovo's new laptop devices, comes equipped with 11th-generation Intel Core processors as well as an integrated 720p HD camera, a third microphone, and AI-based audio for easy collaboration while working from home.
Taking under consideration the long hours spent in front of a screen, HP also announced that its latest displays, the E24u G4, the E27u G4 USB-C, and M-Series FHD monitors, feature always-on blue light protection which shields users’ eyes without impacting the device’s colour accuracy.
The company also unveiled what has been described as the world’s lightest compact business convertible – the HP Elite Dragonfly G2. With a starting weight at less than 1kg, the new Dragonfly is equipped with the latest Intel processors and Xe graphics, while a Max version focuses on enhanced collaboration features with four wide-range microphones, AI-driven audio optimisation, and a 5 MP + IR camera for high-quality video conferencing.
As well as Intel, HP has also enlisted Qualcomm to power its latest devices. The HP Elite Folio, which combines the functions of a phone, tablet, and PC all into one device, feature the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G Platform, delivering multi-gigabit speeds for on-the-go 5G connectivity. Support for Wi-Fi 6 is also included.
Commenting on the announcements, HP’s president of Personal Systems, Alex Cho, said that, “while the PC is more essential than ever, what’s most important of all is people”.
“Our innovation engine continues to be grounded in deep customer insights that help keep people connected, engaged, and contributing in this new world," he added.
"We are looking beyond the device people use to what will improve their experience – from software that provides lighting control for video calls, peripherals that enable a more customised experience, to how services can make it easier to monitor and manage devices for a multitude of devices."
