TalkTalk Business adds partner MDF to Homeworker package

Firm follows up on launch of business-grade connectivity offering, with details of how it plans to support its channel partners

The most common response from suppliers during the Covid-19 pandemic has been to increase support for partners through a number of financial, marketing and enablement tools.

One of the weapons in the supplier’s arsenal is to help partners financially with access to marketing development funds (MDF). Some have freed up early access to finances and others have increased the support around digital marketing activities that can be rewarded.

TalkTalk Business has decided that the time is right to launch MDF for partners to support the large number of workers that are operating at home.

The Homeworker Package, which has been giving remotely based workers access to connectivity services, has now added its 800 channel partners into that mix with the launch of an MDF package.

The comms player will be making white label marketing materials available, as it encourages partners to upsell and sell a range of options to customers, including GFAST, EOFTTC, FTTC and FTTP.

“As UK business and their employees embrace the ‘new-normal’ of homeworking, our mission to deliver full fibre has never felt more urgent. Our Partners are in a great position to shape and leverage this homeworking opportunity, and we’re excited to be able to help support this,” said Richard Thompson, managing director of Indirect at TalkTalk Business.

The HomeWorker Package, offering business-grade connectivity of 76Mbps to 1Gbps, was launched last month as TalkTalk Business not only reacted to the current situation but started to get things ready to support what is expected by many to be the “new normal” for some time to come. Many office-based workers have already been told that their places of work are not going to be opening before the start of Q4.

Increase in customer interest

The comms specialist said it introduced the offering due to the current increase in customer interest and those firms looking to make more permanent changes. The firm quoted a forecast by Global Workplace Analytics predicting that 25-30% of the UK workforce is projected to be working from home multiple days a week by the end of 2021. Data-driven sectors such as finance, technology and IT are seen to have exhibited the greatest shift to remote working.

TalkTalk Business is expecting up to 17 million people will be taking advantage of working remotely a few times a week from now on. Those numbers might be debated, but the idea that the lasting legacy of the pandemic will be changed working patterns is one that is widely accepted.

Jonathan Kini, managing director at TalkTalk Business, said: “Britain has seen a rapid rise in homeworking over the past few months and the need for reliable connectivity has never been greater.

“The launch of TalkTalk Business Homeworker offers medium and enterprise-sized businesses and their employees the opportunity to benefit from business-grade connectivity in their homes, with the necessary security, reliability and speed needed to meet business demands,” he said.
