Channel roundup: Who's gone where?

Some fresh names for the channel to add to their contacts books as there is more personnel movement across the industry

The Covid-19 lockdown might be easing, but the past few weeks have barely made a difference to those working in the personnel departments across the industry.

The desire to gain growth and get the right team in place has continued over the past week. Here are some moves that caught the eye:

Park Place Technologies

The IT datacentre maintenance player has appointed Andrew Gehrlein as chief financial officer (CFO), and Michael Vedda has joined the company as chief revenue officer.

Gehrlein brings nearly 30 years of experience to Park Place Technologies, most recently serving as CFO of Valtris Specialty Chemicals in Independence.

Vedda brings nearly 25 years of experience, most recently serving as Dell EMC vice-president of sales for the Americas, data protection solutions.

Exertis

The distributor has appointed Jamie Brothwell as commercial director, and Sam Williams as sales director for its accessories business. Both will report to Mike Buley, Exertis consumer managing director.

“I am delighted to have made these two key appointments as we look to maximise the benefits of a more integrated approach for our accessories business,” said Buley.

“Jamie and Sam have the right experience and management skills to enable our teams to support our vendors and customers in ensuring that we not only fulfil the demand for accessory products, but also always ensure we attach accessories to sales at every opportunity.”

In addition, Cheryl Wheeler has returned to Exertis as general manager for accessories, reporting to Brothwell.

ThousandEyes

The internet and cloud intelligence company has made a couple of hires in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region to support its growth ambitions.

Antony Finn becomes vice-president of EMEA North – including the UK, Ireland, Benelux and the Nordics – having spent the past nine years at Vodafone and previously spent time at Verizon.

He is joined by Yogi Chandiramani as vice-president of solutions engineering, who will be leading the firm’s pre-sales operations including product design and development.

“Yogi and Tony couldn’t have joined at a better time and will be instrumental in managing the increased market momentum in EMEA,” said Mohit Lad, co-founder and CEO of ThousandEyes.

Salesforce

The firm has appointed an advisory board of senior international business leaders to provide strategic guidance and support to Salesforce’s ongoing expansion strategy in EMEA, the company’s fastest-growing region last year.

The new board, which will meet quarterly, is led by Alex Dayon, chairman of the advisory board of Salesforce. It includes a number of executives that have worked at the likes of Virgin Money, Siemens and BMW.

“Tapping into the expertise of an advisory board of this calibre is essential as we navigate the unprecedented challenges that are reshaping our world,” said Gavin Patterson, president and CEO of Salesforce International.

Cradlepoint

The 5G wireless network player has ambitions to expand significantly in Europe and has hired Evert Suur, previously head of channels for Northern Europe at Forescout, as Area Director for Northern Europe. Lorenzo Ruggiero also joins the company, as area director for Southern Europe.

“It’s time to establish our presence in Europe and tap into the growing demand for mobile, branch and IoT networks. We want to win more Fortune 500 companies in the year ahead and dominate the market as 5G infrastructure rolls out across the region,” said James Bristow, senior vice-president of EMEA at Cradlepoint.
