Arrow and Puppet agree EMEA distribution deal

The UK and Europe as seen from space at night.

Arrow Electronics has announced a new distribution deal with infrastructure automation provider Puppet, which broadens its channel offering for businesses across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

By adding Puppet to its portfolio, Arrow said it is creating new opportunities for customers to combine leading vendor products with widely used options for automating enterprise business processes.

Puppet’s Enterprise offering allows companies to deliver and manage almost any infrastructure at scale with both agent-less and agent-based automation in a single platform. It also enables the continuous enforcement of security and compliance policies, the firm says.

“In an increasingly complex IT landscape, automating actions across infrastructure at every layer and across every surface is more important than ever before," commented Paul Heywood, chief revenue officer at Puppet. “Arrow understands the needs faced by CIOs, DevOps, networking and security teams and the criticality of automation and orchestration working in harmony with virtualisation, cloud, analytics and security stacks, along with the other tools and workflows those enterprise teams have in place today.”

According to Puppet, more than 40,000 companies – including 75 percent of the Fortune 100 – rely on its technology and related products for automating infrastructure and application delivery.

In addition to its Enterprise solution, Arrow will distribute Puppet Remediate, which helps IT operations teams prioritise and remediate security vulnerabilities faster and at scale. The agreement will also see channel firms gain access to Nebula - Puppet’s latest solution for automation of cloud-native applications and infrastructure.

“Arrow’s portfolio and Puppet perfectly tie into each other given Puppet is teaming with the world’s leading vendors by automising configurations of their solutions,” said Alexis Brabant, vice president sales of Arrow’s EMEA enterprise computing solutions business.

“Puppet managed to become an industry standard that works across all infrastructures and vertical businesses.

“We look forward to working with Puppet as we are increasing our focus on IT automation and secure DevOps in our overall solutions mix for both on-premise and multi-cloud environments.”
