Wipro announces Microsoft Business Unit to aid digital transformation

IT services firm Wipro has unveiled its new Microsoft Business Unit offering, designed to focus on the development and evangelisation of systems that use Microsoft’s enterprise cloud services.

An expansion of its long-standing partnership with the Redmond giant, the Microsoft Business Unit is made up of a team of trained and certified Azure consultants and specialists that will aid digital transformation through Wipro’s domain expertise.

Customers will be able to utilise Wipro’s range of domain-based offerings, including Cloud Studio, for migration of different workloads on Microsoft Azure, Data and Microsoft Dynamics 365 via its as a service model.

Wipro LIVE Workspace – which uses Microsoft’s Modern Workplace, Microsoft 365, as well as LUIS and the Power platform – will also help customers run a “future-ready” workplace with apps and data accessible at anytime and from anywhere.

Additionally, Wipro’s Data Discovery Platform (DDP) will deliver actionable insights by exploring varied data sources via pattern discovery, Auto ML, visual sciences and storytelling. The core of the platform brings together the Wipro HOLMES Artificial Intelligence and Microsoft Azure, the firm said.

“With this partnership, we will co-innovate in industry domain services focused on data, analytics, security and customer/employee experiences.”

Headquartered in Bangalore, Wipro specialises in using cognitive computing, hyper-automation, robotics, cloud, analytics and emerging technologies to deliver IT, consulting and business process services. The multinational firm has a staff base of over 175,000 and serves clients across six continents.

A Microsoft Gold Competency Partner, Wipro’s new Microsoft Business Unit is the latest development in a partnership that has already spanned decades. The firm said it has demonstrated its commitment to the partnership by investing in new industry-leading products for Azure customers.
