Blue Prism partners with Red Hat to drive Robotic Process Automation adoption

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) specialist Blue Prism has announced a new collaboration with Red Hat, designed to create next-generation intelligent automation capabilities and services for the enterprise.

The initiative will see Red Hat’s Process Automation Manager platform integrated with Blue Prism’s connected-RPA suite to enable businesses to create a more comprehensive automation strategy that can increase process efficiencies and improve ROI.

Available now on Blue Prism’s Digital Exchange (DX) portal, the integration allows users to quickly build and deploy executable, automated processes to tackle tasks such as processing claims, filling orders reducing inventory and onboarding customers.

Additionally, organisations can interact with running instances, while monitoring real-time data to improve efficiency. Businesses can define out-of-the-box tasks, including those that allow complex processes to integrate with external services, Blue Prism and Red Hat said.

“We are excited to work with Blue Prism and believe that together we can help organisations improve operational agility and take advantage of new opportunities that quickly add to the bottom line,” commented Mike Piech, VP and general manager of Middleware at Red Hat.

Business can leverage the integration in two ways. With the first, users can complete tasks designed for human workers by creating a Dynamic Task in Red Hat Process Automation Manager, which can then be executed via a Digital Worker. Alternatively, these Digital Workers can automatically execute and complete these tasks - replacing the human task with an entirely automated process.

In both use cases, the integration asset returns the output of the automated task into the process flow in Red Hat Process Automation Manager to allow the overall process to proceed, Blue Prism and Red Hat explained.

“Through this collaboration, customers can more easily integrate Red Hat Process Automation Manager and Blue Prism’s connected-RPA offering, enabling them to automate more of their operations, save money and reduce errors,” Piech added.

The move follows Blue Prism’s recently expanded partnership with IBM, which integrations three core capabilities of IBM Cloud Pak for Automation with Blue Prism’s Digital Workforce – including Workflow, Capture and Decisions.
