SolarWinds has announced the launch of its new Head Nerds programme, which will see a team of premier subject matter experts deliver in-depth training and resources to help MSPs grow.

The IT management software firm said the initiative has been designed to build on its commitment to customer success and partnerships with programmes such as the MSP Institute, MSP Advice Project and MSP Pulse.

Head Nerds will serve as SolarWinds MSP partner advocates to help them learn how to create and sell services, protect their customers, demonstrate value, as well as stay ahead of the rapidly-evolving managed services space.

Ultimately, the team will be on hand to provide training, resources and consultative sessions to help businesses understand and maximise key growth areas- including security, automation and operations, SolarWinds explained.

“The biggest challenge MSPs face is how to work on their business, instead of just working in it,” commented Mike Cullen, group vice president of partner success at SolarWinds. “This was the leading impetus for creating the Head Nerds programme.

“We wanted to give MSPs the ability to work directly with some of the premier experts in the industry—to help them look at the big-picture potential that trends and technologies bring.”

SolarWind’s Head Nerds team will be lead by four key industry experts. Marc-Andre Tanguay, a senior automation specialist with extensive MSP experience, takes the role of Head Automation Nerd, while Gill Langston brings managed services and security know-how as Head Security Nerd.

Eric Harless becomes Head Backup Nerd, bringing 25-plus years’ experience of helping MSPs turn backup into a competitive growth driver, with former MSP, entrepreneurial leader and SaaS software expert Eric Anthony also on hand as Head Operations Nerd.

“Our Head Nerds give our partners direct access to the consulting and content they need to leverage key areas like security, automation, and operational efficiency to boost their bottom lines,” Cullen added. “This adds to our broader set of initiatives that have one singular objective: help fuel our customers’ success.”
