Global cybersecurity firm Bitdefender has announced the appointment of Quinton Watts as regional sales director the UK, Ireland, Nordics and Benelux.

An accomplished sales and marketing leader, Watts brings 20 years’ worth of experience to the role, including the ability to map out and oversee the strategies and teams needed to deliver rapid growth in the North European reseller market, Bitdefender said.

Reporting to VP of Global Sales and Channels Joe Sykora in his new role, he arrives having helped build and lead sales and marketing teams at Eset for over a decade.

The software firm said the move reinforces its commitment to Europe and channel development as it rapidly expands in the B2B market, leveraging the opportunities created by the recent intense consolidation of the global industry.

“We are delighted to welcome Quinton Watts as a key member of our global sales team during this period of intense transformation for Bitdefender,” Sykora said.

“Quinton will play a key role in consolidating our efforts in Northern Europe, bringing tremendous experience and technology and cybersecurity sales leadership.”

Founded in 2001, Bitdefender has become a leading player in the cybersecurity market, with its software protecting more than 500 million systems across 150 countries worldwide.

The firm has enjoyed high growth over the last five years thanks to the rapid expansion of the B2B market, with its offerings now embedded in over 38% of the world’s security software.

Over the past year alone, it has redesigned the channel development in the US and added two new business lines to respond to customers’ needs for Network Security Analytics and Managed Detection and Response solutions.

’’Bitdefender is one of the most innovative players in the cybersecurity market, with rapid global expansion and widening product portfolio,’’ commented Watts.

“I look forward to joining the team’s efforts at growing the company’s footprint and expanding its relationships with partners across the UK, Ireland, Scandinavia and Benelux.’’
