VPN services provider ExpressVPN and laptop maker Dynabook have announced a new global partnership which aims to provide customers with “essential” internet protection through VPN services.

The collaboration will see ExpressVPN preinstalled on all new and future Dynabook PCs, starting with the firm’s new Satellite Pro L50, originally launched back in December 2019.

As part of the agreement, users will also receive a free 30-day trial to the VPN provider’s services, which the pair says will provide them with crucial security and privacy protection right out of the box.

It’s the first time Dynabook, formerly known as Toshiba, has teamed up with a VPN provider. The firm says the addition of ExpressVPN will help its global customers secure their internet traffic and guard their online activity – particularly when using public Wi-Fi hotspots such as those at airports, hotels and shared working spaces.

“VPNs have become an indispensable tool for internet privacy and security, so we’re excited to bring a safer experience to our users right out of the box through this partnership,” said Dynabook EMEA president Damian Jaume.

“We chose to partner with ExpressVPN because they are absolutely unparalleled in the industry when it comes to cutting-edge security, super-fast connection speeds globally, and ease-of-use. They share our deep commitment to building a safe and open internet experience.”

Dynabook appointed ExpressVPN as its official VPN provider after a rigorous selection process, the firm said. The laptop manufacturer’s process included conducting “thorough tests” on the provider’s software, as well as consideration of factors such as security, reliability, speed, ease-of-use, privacy policy, backend architecture and more.

“We’re thrilled to work with Dynabook to provide their customers with greater internet privacy, security, and freedom,” commented Harold Li, vice president of ExpressVPN. “It’s extremely gratifying for us to see that VPNs are no longer just tools for cybersecurity experts, but that companies and individuals alike recognise their importance for all internet users.”
