Cloud communications provider RingCentral has announced the appointment of Richard Massey as regional vice president of its EMEA channel.

Based in London, Massey will be responsible for growing RingCentral’s EMEA channel business and capitalising on the “tremendous opportunity” in the market.

In his new role, he will help partners position themselves as consultants to their customers, bringing value-added services and disruptive services that help drive success for their customers, RingCentral said.

Massey joins the business from Fujitsu, where he held the position of head of strategy for Unified Communications and Contact Centre for EMEA. Before that, he was sales director at BroadSoft and spent ten years working for Mitel in both engineering and sales roles.

“I am excited to be joining the RingCentral team and working with a company that is truly disrupting the on-premise unified communications (UC) market,” Massey said. “RingCentral has some of the most progressive and innovative technology in the industry, and coupled with its unique channel initiative, I feel it is a match made in heaven.

“Channel partners are seeing a lot of opportunities from their customers, and RingCentral is ideally placed to help these partners meet their customers’ needs.”

The provider says the combination of this unique channel approach and the RingCentral platform represents a significant driver of its partners’ success, as well as being a significant factor in its own growth.

In EMEA, RingCentral is currently working with channel partners such as CDW, Bytes Software Services, Cloud Technology Solutions Devoteam, as well as Netpremacy. The provider also recently announced a key collaboration with Westcon.

“The unified communications as a service (UCaaS) market opportunity is huge, and we are still in the early days in terms of market penetration – we’ve only just scratched the surface,” commented Zane Long, senior vice president of global channel sales at RingCentral.

“I’m excited to welcome Richard to the team as we work to bring more partners on board and maximise value for their business customers.”
