Exertis has announced the appointment of Rikki Harrison as general manager of its Dell EMC team, as the tech distributor looks to further grow the business in the UK channel.

Reporting to enterprise sales manager Jason Beeson, Harrison will be responsible for expanding the Dell EMC customer base in the country and will be supported by a team of six, Exertis confirmed.

“With data protection high up on the agenda of companies of all sizes, Dell EMC provides our resellers with industry leading solutions,” Beeson commented. “We have a great opportunity to grow the Dell EMC business in the UK channel and Rikki is the start of an on-going investment in adding resource and expertise.

“He comes with a great deal of experience both in distribution and more importantly knowledge of the storage market which will be invaluable for our customers.”

Harrison joins Exertis from Tech Data, where he was responsible for the IBM systems and storage arm of the business across the EMEA region. Before that, he was business manager for IBM storage at Arrow and boasts more than 20 years’ experience in the storage market.

“The opportunity to build a team dedicated to Dell EMC and develop a go-to-market strategy to significantly increase the business was a challenge that appealed to me,” Harrison said. “Exertis is a distributor with a clear focus on increasing its enterprise presence by offering resellers great solutions from world-class vendors.”

Exertis continues to invest in its Dell EMC team, having appointed a number of key figures to drive the business forward.

Recently, Tyrone Kleynhams joined the distributor as enterprise business development manager, bringing 22 years’ experience at Dell spanning various roles and business segments.

The Exertis Dell EMC pre-sales team has also been bolstered with the appointments of IT industry veterans Donal O’Gorman and Ian Sheppard.
