Scality has bolstered its channel strategy in the EMEA region with two key new leadership hires, as the storage software firm looks to boost partner opportunities and business growth.

Industry experts Frédéric Saldes and Doug Williams – who together boast over 45 years' experience of channel management – have now joined its channel team to lead networking efforts across the region.

Saldes takes on the freshly-created role of Southern Europe, Middle East and Africa (SEMEA) channel director, while Williams becomes the new channel director for Northern Europe.

Scality said the additions will help the business cater to the increasing demand for data storage and orchestration solutions that help manage data and keep it intact, as well as tackle the broader range of challenges unstructured data poses both on-premises and in the cloud.

"The perfect storm of massive amounts of unstructured data and the need to preserve and keep it usable and available has increased the demand for Scality's RING and Zenko Technologies," commented Emilio Roman, senior vice president of international sales at Scality. "Solutions providers need solid, supportable solutions for today's data-driven organisations.

"In these newly-created roles, Saldes and Williams will be able to expand our reach. Accelerating partners' business growth with Scality."

Saldes joins Scality having previously held the position of senior director channel sales for EMEA, India and CIS at Impinj, while Williams arrives from his prior role of regional channel manager for Scale Computing.

Together with Roman, the pair will lead Scality's ATLAS partner program, driving close collaboration with partners through enhanced training and sales and marketing initiatives as it expands, the firm said.
