Channel roundup: Who's gone where?

Time for the weekly roundup of personnel moves across the industry with several senior roles being filled in the last seven days

Plenty of movement in the industry this week with senior appointments galore. The motivation for changing personnel is of course the ongoing hunt for growth.

Veritas
Mike Walkey joins as vice president of global channel sales, strategic partners and alliances and comes in with a background working in an indirect world. he was most recently senior vice president of strategic partners and alliances at Hitachi Vantara and has held senior positions at Flextronics International, Buy.com, and Ingram Micro. "Mike knows the channel and has a proven track record of building innovative programs that help partners succeed and differentiate themselves in the market," said Scott Genereux, executive vice president of worldwide field operations at Veritas.

Acronis
The cyber security player has appointed Kirill Tatarinov as executive vice chairman to help lead the company in its next phase of growth. He has been in the industry for 30 years and has been on the firm's Board of Directors since December last year but also has time with Citrix and Microsoft on the CV. “After serving on the board for the last months, Kirill will now be taking a more active role in the company,” said Serguei Beloussov, Acronis founder and CEO. “Kirill will be an active member of the executive team, helping to accelerate Acronis cyber strategy execution and scale Acronis Cyber Platform and Acronis Cyber Infrastructure business. His experience with innovations at scale will help us to deliver easy, efficient, and secure cyber protection to customers of any size.”

Apstra
the networking player has made a double appointment with Dave Butler handling the firm's business development efforts globally, as well as spearheading investment into its growing partner ecosystem and Herb Schneider coming on board as vice president of engineering. Both men have been around the industry for several decades and come with plenty of experience. “Herb has unique depth and understanding of both the networking, cloud and storage sectors and has contributed throughout his career to building great products that had major impact on the industry. Dave has been growing key partnerships at Apstra and will continue to accelerate the scale and depth of our existing and new partners. Both Dave and Herb share our core values and have the ability to effectively lead our talented team of engineers and partner organization globally," said Mansour Karam, CEO and founder of Apstra.

Nutanix
The cloud player has given Dom Poloniecki the nod to make an impact as general manager for its Western Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa region, which includes the UK. His brief includes responsibility for all sales and customer delivery activities. He joins after a 17 year career at IBM and will be using some of the cloud expertise he picked up there in his latest role. “I’m absolutely delighted to have Dom join our leadership team in EMEA. His extensive experience in cloud services and enterprise sales not only fits the Nutanix market position perfectly, but also our future ambitions," said Sammy Zoghlami, senior vice president of sales for the EMEA region.

Zscaler
Dali Rajic has become president go-to-market and CRO and will be tasked with bringing in growth, reporting into Jay Chaudhry, CEO and founder, Zscaler. "Dali played a significant role in AppDynamics’ rapid ascent to market leader over the last seven-plus years. His extensive cloud experience, proven ability to build multidimensional go-to-market models, and impressive track record in driving global sales results will be invaluable to Zscaler. We see an inflection point in the market as enterprises realise the need to evolve their security for today’s mobile- and cloud-first world. Our customers are looking for partners who can expertly guide them on this journey," said Chaudhry.
