Nutanix channel will benefit from HPE partnership

The two vendors are working together and the integrated appliance that will appear later this year will be available through Nutanix partners

The partnership between HPE and Nutanix will see the hyperconverged player's channel given a chance to sell a combined server and software option.

The two firms have agreed to partner up to create a hybrid cloud as a service offering with HPE pushing it through its GreenLake subscription offering using its Apollo and ProLiant servers and Nutanix adding the enterprise cloud OS on top.

The vendor's are claiming that the tie-up will provide the answers for those customers looking for a managed hybrid cloud infrastructure offering that can be deployed as a service in a data centre or co-lo facility.

The two vendors have had an up and down relationship with HPE being quite happy in the past to rule out working with Nutanix. But now the firms are friends again and there should be benefits for Nutanix partners.

Nutanix will give its channel partners the chance to sell HPE servers combined with Nutanix’s Enterprise Cloud OS software as an integrated appliance.

“HPE created the modern on-premises, as a service consumption market with HPE GreenLake,” said Antonio Neri, president and CEO, HPE. “Today, HPE is expanding its leadership in this market by providing additional choice to customers seeking a hybrid cloud alternative that promises greater agility at lower costs.”

The response from Dheeraj Pandey, founder, CEO and chairman of Nutanix, was to talk about the benefits that the tie-up would offer customers,

“Our customers tell us that it’s their applications that matter most. Our partnership with HPE will provide Nutanix customers with another choice to make their infrastructure invisible so they can focus on business-critical apps, not the underlying technology,” he added “We are delighted to partner with HPE for the benefit of enterprises looking for the right hybrid cloud solution for their business.”

The fruits of the partnership are expected to appear in Q3 but partners will get a chance to see the progress at Nutanix Next in May and HPE Discover in June.
