KCOM National Network Services (NNS) has announced the appointment of Dave Hawkins as its new head of channel sales, as the communications services firm looks to bolster its channel offering.

With 18 years of experience across various leading telecom businesses, Hawkins will help the company drive growth by strengthening channel partner relationships and forging new ones.

“I’m delighted to be heading up the Channel team at such an exciting time for business,” Hawkins commented. “Emerging technologies mean the role of Channel business is constantly evolving and there is an increasing need to add value to business customers.

“What drew me to KCOM was its excellent reputation and renowned customer service. Upholding these core values to help our Channel partners to flourish will be a priority for my team.”

He added: “Channel businesses can expect a more streamlined customer journey and a dedicated, experienced team working with them to provide bespoke solutions.”

Hawkins began his career in technical roles before moving sales and account management, meaning the new channel sales chief brings a fresh, holistic approach to his new role, KCOM said.

He also spent 11 years working in wholesale markets at Virgin Media, as well as a period as a network build engineer for BT. Most recently, Hawkins held the role of an SI channel account director at TalkTalk Business, where he was responsible for major and wholesale accounts.

“Dave’s wealth of experience and drive make him the perfect choice to build our Channel business,” said Iain Shearman, managing director of KCOM NNS. “His consultative approach paired with his industry knowledge will help us to strengthen relationships with current partners and forge new relationships. He is an asset to the team and we look forward to his initiatives coming to fruition.”
