SAP will now re-sell HCL's maintenance, repair, and overhaul solution under the moniker SAP Enterprise Asset Management (SAP EAM), add-on for MRO by HCL for SAP S/4HANA.

The offering will be specifically targeted at businesses operating in the aviation, aerospace and defence space, focused on ensuring compliance in the heavily regulated industries, while also reducing costs of ownership and service contracts with multiple vendors.

It combines maintenance, repair and overhaul of complex assets with manufacturing, product support, finance, as well as logistics management functions, making it an all-in-one option for businesses needing to keep on top of costs.

“This solution dramatically streamlines the operational landscape for enterprises by helping to shorten the timeline needed for development and implementation project cycles on SAP S/4HANA – which can accelerate time to market for launching cost savings and improved efficiency initiatives,” Ajit Kumar, president of applications and systems integration services at HCL Technologies, said.

Because it's an add-on for SAP S/4HANA, businesses already taking advantage of SAP's cloud platform can easily streamline their maintenance costs and more efficient asset utilisation with little effort.

“The expertise and capability that HCL has as a partner and as an independent software vendor made it a natural choice to develop this add-on for the MRO solution,” said Christoph Behrendt, executive vice president of industry and application innovation at SAP.

“The add-on solution will help companies to more easily meet regulatory requirements and drive maintenance efficiency while fully leveraging the benefits of the digital environment of SAP S/4HANA.

“SAP S/4HANA is fully built on the most advanced in-memory platform – SAP HANA – and is designed with the most modern user experience (UX), SAP Fiori. It delivers digitized end-to-end processes to help enterprises across industries run simple in the digital economy.”
