Reseller PCM snaps up UK hybrid cloud specialist

Acquisition sign

PCM has announced the acquisition of Stack, in a move that will help the tech provider expand its extensive services portfolio to include cloud, security, virtualisation, data services, unified communications, and infrastructure implementation and management in the UK.

“As a leading provider in North America, we continue to look for ways to accelerate market share gains and this acquisition will allow us to expand upon our offerings not only to new customers in the U.K. and European markets, but also to our global customers based in North America," said Frank Khulusi, chairman and CEO of PCM.

The reseller made the purchase to help it push its entry into the UK market, despite starting its own operation back in May from scratch. PCM explained the acquisition would help it pick up vendor support from the likes of Cisco, Citrix, Dell/EMC, Fortinet Meru, NetApp, Nutanix, Sophos, Veeam and VMware.

“We are delighted and excited to be joining the PCM family," added Steve Cobham, managing director for The Stack Group.

"The acquisition allows us to build on Stack’s renowned service heritage and enables us to expand and grow our offerings to not only existing clients but also to the PCM client base.”

Donavan Hutchinson, managing director of UK and International for PCM UK, explained the purchase would also bolster its customer service too, with the offer of more bespoke services to customers in the region.

"I am excited to work with the team at The Stack Group given our strong cultural fit and motivation to integrate our product portfolios and offerings to mutual and net new clients that will allow us to accelerate our business as a true global solutions and services provider,” he added.
