Workday has appointed ex-SAP executive Gonzalo Benedit as president of EMEA and APJ, helping to grow the ERP firm's presence across the regions, strategising to build a solid go-to-market strategy.

Much of Benedit's work history was spent in international roles for SAP, including management positions for the company's Latin America, Central America and Mexico and EMEA regions. His most recent role was as COO of SAP's EMEA business, where he focused on sales, services and operations, as well as building the company's go-to-market strategy and enhancing the customer experience of Workday’s suite of products.

Before joining SAP, Benedit worked at various management consulting and finance organisations and has qualifications in finance and business economics from the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella.

“I am very excited to be joining Workday at such a critical time in our development,” Benedit said. "In my early days in the role, it’s very clear to me that Workday is delivering on its commitment to bring the customer focus back to the enterprise.

"It is unheard of to see a 95%+ customer satisfaction rating year over year, along with such an engaged and happy customer community, and that’s what Workday is doing. I am focused on continuing this success and on bringing more great customers into the Workday community.”

He replaces Chano Fernandez, who was recently appointed executive vice president, global field operations at Workday. Benedit will be based in Workday's French HQ in Paris.
