Former NetApp channel chief heads up Equinix's partner programme

business leadership

Equinix has appointed ex-NetApper, Simon Ognall, as its UK channel and alliances director.

He will be tasked with leading the data centre giant's channel programme in the region, helping it grow by recruiting new partners and building better relationships with its current members.

Ognall was NetApp's head of channel, and at Equinix he will lead its channel team in the UK to help them further the channel business too.

“This is an exciting time to be joining Equinix," Ognall said. "The company has made some exciting announcements recently and has enjoyed a significant period of continued success.

"I’m looking forward to working with our partners to make the most of the changing business landscape and contribute to the ongoing success of our global channel partner programme.”

Before NetApp, Ognall led teams and developed channel programmes at a number of other tech businesses including Simon Magee, Bytes Technology and ShiftF7, where he held positions including managing director and sales director. He also had a brief stint at QuantiQ Technology as interim sales director directly before joining Equinix.

“We are delighted with the appointment of Simon as UK channel and alliances director," Eric Saillard, EMEA channel director of Equinix, said. "His wealth of experience and knowledge of the industry will be a significant asset for our UK channel partner programme.

"We have made significant investments to ensure our partners are set up for ongoing success and we believe Simon can play an important role in our programme.”
