RM Education picks HP Inc as its recommended partner

HP Chromebooks

HP Inc has become a recommended partner of RM Education, following a tender process after introducing HP Chromebooks to the RM Recommends range last year.

Although RM Education used to make its own PCs for distribution to the education sector, it ended its efforts in 2013, instead turning to manufacturers and vendors to offer hardware to the vertical as part of RM Recommends, which seeks to provide the best devices to schools and colleges to enhance learning.

"RM and HP are perfectly positioned to introduce schools and colleges to the technology and services necessary to equip children with the digital knowledge and skills required for the future," Neil Sawyer, HP channel manager of UK & Ireland, said. "We are very excited."

Becoming a recommended partner of RM means the company will put forward HP Inc's entire portfolio if a school is looking to update their classrooms, computer rooms or entire school equipment.

The decision to appoint HP as a recommended partner comes following stringent testing of HP's devices and certifications obtained.

"The RM Recommends range is built on the premise that school hardware is constantly changing and evolving, with that it is critical to ensure our solutions are relevant to education from both a product specification and pricing perspective," RM explained.

The two companies will now focus on helping the education sector close the skills gap related to STEM subjects by educating staff about the opportunities provided by the technology sector.

“Our relationship with HP has evolved healthily over the last 18 months and we are delighted to now have them as our recommended partner," John Srawley, head of procurement for RM Education, said.
