Secure Cloudlink has appointed former HPE VP Lee Hughes as its new chief sales and marketing officer, tasked with growing the business internationally with the company's channel go-to-market model.

He will also help the company explore new verticals and grow its customer base in the public sector, SaaS and finance spaces.

“This is a very exciting time to be joining Secure Cloudlink," Hughes said. "I am really looking forward to this new challenge and helping Secure Cloudlink fulfill its major growth ambitions. Secure Cloudlink is different to any other digital identity management service on the market at the moment and it’s very energising to see a product that guarantees security and addresses the concerns facing organisations and individuals today.”

Hughes has extensive experience in both the client and vendor side of technology organisations. Before joining HPE 10 years ago, he worked as an account director at Computacentre and infrastructure development manager at NTL.

At HPE, Hughes worked his way up the ranks from account director, to client director in the UK and Ireland, sales director, director and general manager and most recently vice president of the channel, alliances and service providers, contributing to the company's double digit growth over the last two years.

He said he's now set up to help partners and customers address security challenges as the seek to make their businesses more profitable.

“With data breaches continuing to plague the market, and with IoT growing ever more prominent, now is the time to remove the outdated and ineffective password authentication system," Hughes added. "I am confident we can achieve the growth ambitions and continue to help keep businesses and individuals safe from costly data breaches.”

Brian Keates, CEO at Secure Cloudlink, explained Hughes's appointment comes at a key time for Secure Cloudlink as it seeks to grow internationally.

"His rich experience and great track record with sales makes him an excellent addition," Keates explained. "He will not only bolster our offering but also help to drive growth through the channel and strengthen our mission to become the leader in digital identity management. We have exciting plans for 2017 and beyond, and having Lee onboard will allow us to beat those targets.”
