Comms-care now offers Microsoft Surface support contracts

Business partnership tree puzzles

Comms-care has launched a suite of enhanced support services for Microsoft Surface owners via its channel partner network, all designed to extend the software giant's existing five-day return to base repair service.

The services fall under three categories: Design, Installation and Support. Design will involve building a master image for Surface tablets including applications that can be installed on devices before they're shipped to the customer. Installation will help organisations set up their Surface tablets with all the apps, set up and services they need (both off-the-shelf and fully customised options are available). Support will replace the need for companies to send their devices back to Microsoft, instead encouraging them to be fixed by Comms-care.

This latter service makes it faster to get a Surface tablet fixed, with same day turnaround times in most cases, including a 24/7 callout service that means an employee will never be without their tablet. Replacement machines can be offered to ensure business isn't disrupted and the service can be supplemented with a Flex Support add-on, which gives 10 hours of tech support and includes support for apps installed on the device.

“This is a great opportunity for us to support and deepen our partnership with Microsoft; to deliver an exciting new set of services to the channel that we are confident will be well received," said Matt Sanderson, Ingram Micro's (Comms-care's parent compant) chief executive in the UK and Ireland.

Comms-care was acquired by Ingram Micro back in May 2016. The company said because it's worked so closely with Microsoft, it can offer a range of value-added services to corporates via its network of reseller partners.

“We are committed to ensuring that our customers receive the best possible experience," added Ryan Asdourian, Surface and Windows Lead at Microsoft UK.

"Comms-care has the infrastructure and skills to deliver enhanced services and support across our Surface range, ensuring our enterprise customers have the design, installation and support services that best fit their organisation’s needs.”
